This area is our grouping on a City line: the Downtown and Urban Central character areas of the City's GSO2040 plan, trimmed to the part north of Gate City Boulevard, east of Josephine Boyd Street and west of US 29, 16,034 residents and 8,836 housing units in 2020, the smallest of the five. Every guide here is one area of the City's own neighborhood map, which the City describes as estimated and which marks none of these areas verified, so its line is the City's sketch rather than a surveyed or adopted boundary. All three of the City's local historic districts are here, and each takes in most of its guide: 967 of Fisher Park's 1,244 residents, 693 of Dunleath's 727 and 1,620 of College Hill's 2,581; on the County's rate table the Dunleath district adds 5 cents per $100 to the tax bill and College Hill 1 cent, and Fisher Park nothing. Westerwood, 1,129 residents, and Lake Daniel, 585, lie toward UNCG, and they hold 48 of the 60 guide residents anywhere in the city in a special flood hazard area by block. The campuses are not in this area: College Hill takes in part of Greensboro College and 108 residents on UNCG's land, but UNCG's main campus falls in West and Northwest. 5 guides are listed below.
