The Northeast is the city east of the Franklin Mountains along US 54, and it sits between two pieces of federal land. Castner Range National Monument comes within 30 meters of Sunrise Acres and 130 of Castner Heights, and Fort Bliss's land is 40 meters from Mountain View's edge. The post itself is outside the City's limits, and no guide here counts the 11,260 residents its census place held in 2020, but it had 41,527 direct employees in 2025, and a large share of the city's buyers and renters move on its orders rather than by choice. Castner Heights, Mountain View and Sunrise Acres held 3,042, 4,603 and 7,208 residents in 2020; Mountain View and Sunrise Acres share Hondo Pass Avenue and Hercules Avenue, and US 54 runs through the middle of Sunrise Acres. Sandstone Ranch, north of Transmountain Road, is newer: the 23 recorded plats that carry its name were filed from 2006 to 2014, and it held 7,526 people in 2020, 6.7 kilometers in a straight line from the nearest stop on any of Sun Metro's Brio lines, route 59 or the streetcar. 4 guides are listed below.

All four are El Paso ISD, the district the arithmetic on this site's calculators is built on, at 1.0807 per $100 for 2025. El Paso ISD declared financial exigency in June 2026, so a school named in a listing is worth checking against the district's current plans before it counts in the offer. None of the four is on FEMA's digital flood panels. The preliminary countywide map FEMA issued on 8 August 2025, which is not yet effective and can change, puts 1,053 of Mountain View's 4,603 residents in its 1% annual chance zone and 1,448 in the 0.2% zone, so for an address there the scanned effective panel and the preliminary one are both worth reading. Sandstone Ranch touches the City's Municipal Management District No. 1, which levies 0.27 per $100, on 1.5% of its ground, where nobody lived in 2020; where that district actually levies was not established here, so an address at the edge is worth checking on the appraisal district's record. And the associations do not follow the City's lines: Sunrise, Mountain View and Logan Sunrise each cover part of Sunrise Acres, so the name a seller uses may not be the City's.
