City of Largo · Pinellas County · Florida · Figures as of June 2026

Understand Largo before you commit to an address

Largo is eighty-three thousand people in the middle of the Pinellas peninsula, the third-largest city in the county, with a large central park, a botanical garden and a housing stock that runs from post-war blocks to a very large share of manufactured housing. Figures are the same two indexes measured the same way in all 24 municipalities here, on Florida's rules including the homestead exemption. It is inland and out of the storm-surge zone that reshaped the rest of this market in 2024.

What buying in Largo actually involves

Largo's total of 18.9872 mills gives an effective rate of 1.67% and a bill of about $5,600 a year on a typical home value of $339,252. The city runs a full set of services including its own fire department and library, which is what the municipal rate of 5.5200 funds.

Its position mid-peninsula meant it escaped the worst of 2024 (the surge that went through the beaches and Gulfport did not reach central Largo) and its value is down only 1.5% year over year, one of the mildest falls in this layer. That is the geography lesson of Tampa Bay in one number: a few kilometers of elevation and distance from the water is worth several percentage points of value and a great deal of insurance.

Largo runs an unusually complete service set for a Pinellas city, including its own fire department, library and a large central park system, and the municipal millage reflects that. For a buyer the practical question is whether those services are ones you would use, because they are the difference between this city's rate and a neighbour that contracts more of them out.

The stock is postwar and 1970s block housing, with a very large number of manufactured-home communities woven through it. Those communities are a different financing and insurance proposition and they are also where much of the city's affordable housing is, so the city-wide value blends two markets that do not behave alike.

Moving to Largo: check these before you commit

  • Whether the property is manufactured housing, which is a large share of this city and a different financing and insurance product.
  • Rainfall drainage, which mid-county does have.
  • Roof age and wind mitigation on the post-war stock.
  • Whether the property is in a manufactured-home community, and whether the land is owned or leased.
  • Stormwater drainage on the specific street, because mid-county flooding here is rainfall rather than surge.

Largo's own council sets 5.5200 of the 18.9872 mills charged here. The rest is Pinellas County, the school board and the countywide special districts, and the 18.9872 is the total Pinellas County publishes for this taxing district rather than a figure assembled on this site.

Every Largo figure below is cited, stamped with the period it describes, and editable, because a number for the whole city rarely describes your purchase. Appreciation and investment returns are assumptions rather than facts, and they are labelled that way. Read the methodology for how the line is drawn.
